INSTALLATION AND USE
Attach the unit to the included power adapter cord via the
connector jack found on the back of the unit. Plug the transformer
end into a standard electrical outlet. Select a user mode from the
mode setting switch. The unit is operational once turned to the “A”
or “B” setting as indicated by the illuminated LED. The Model 0220
unit can also be operated with a 9-volt alkaline battery. To install
the battery, remove slide cover in the direction of the arrow and
connect the positive and negative leads to the corresponding
battery terminals. Replace cover. Typical battery life is 2-4 days, -
operating continuously for 24 hours a day.
The unit requires no maintenance
or refills. Operate the pest repeller
continuously, 24 hours a day,
occasionally moving to a different
location. For best results, place
additional units in adjacent rooms
and on each level of the dwelling.
When using indoors, the Model
0220 will have a maximum range of
about 1,500 square feet (160 m
2
). When using outdoors, the
maximum range is about 800 square feet (75m
2
); as ultrasonic
sounds do not carry as far outdoors as they do indoors. Protection
will vary based upon temperature and humidity. Allow up to
2 weeks to see results. Continue use to keep pests from returning.
Note: The Model 0220 is designed for indoor and outdoor use.
Although when using outdoors it is recommended that the unit be
connected to a receptacle or convenience outlet of the gasket-
cover type for use in wet locations. Use the unit under the
covering of a patio or porch and avoid direct exposure to rain,
snow, standing water and sprinkler systems.
ABOUT ULTRASOUND
Ultrasonic sounds, (sounds above 20,000Hz), are nearly silent to
humans and most animals; although a slight clicking noise may be
heard by some people. Ultrasound cannot travel through walls or
closed doors. The signals bounce off these hard surfaces causing
a ricochet effect. Ultrasonic sounds are absorbed by soft
materials such as curtains, furniture and carpet, which in turn
diminish the effectiveness of the unit. Shadow areas may occur
around corners or behind home furnishings.
HOW IT WORKS
Household pests are repelled by the constantly changing array of
ultrasonic signals emitted by the unit. The unit disrupts the pests’
nervous systems, affecting their feeding and communication
habits. The unit does not harm humans, unborn children and non-
rodent pets such as dogs, cats, birds and reptiles. However the
unit should be kept away from pet tarantulas, mice, hamsters, and
gerbils. Independent laboratory and university testing have shown
Applica technology to be effective at repelling targeted pests.
SWITCH SETTINGS - MODE SETTING “A”
Use Mode setting “A” for insects and spiders. The unit should be
set on Mode A and placed six inches to two feet above the floor in
rooms or areas where pests spend most of their time.
SWITCH SETTINGS - MODE SETTING “B”
Use mode setting “B” for mice and bats.
MICE: Place the unit anywhere from floor level to 3 feet high
in areas where mice are most active.
BATS: Bats use sonar to navigate and ultrasonic echoes to find
food. For best results place the unit under nesting or roosting
sites or in an attic near nesting sites.

INSTALACIÓN Y FUNCIONAMIENTO
Conecte la unidad al cable adaptador de corriente usando el

Enchufe el extremo transformador en cualquier toma de
corriente estándar. Seleccione una de las posiciones de modo

también con una sola pila alcalina de 9 voltios. Para instalar la

Nota: El Modelo 0220 es diseñado para usarse al interior y al
