Following the operating instructions and avoiding any of the conditions listed above will help you

increase the lifespan of the device. The manufacturer is not responsible if the device is stored

inappropriately or contrary to these instructions. You are recommended to have the device serviced

regularly by an authorised engineer to keep it working for as long as possible.

• To avoid the risk of electric shock, never immerse the appliance in water or other liquids.

Never touch the appliance with wet hands. Connect and disconnect the power cable with dry hands only.

• The mains plug must be always disconnected from the wall socket after use and before cleaning.

Never disconnect the appliance from the socket by pulling the mains cable; always grip the plug!

• Before unplugging the appliance, wait until coee-making is nished and then turn the function

control to the OFF position.

• Never lay the mains cable beside or across sharp edges or hot surfaces. Never wrap the mains cable around

the cover of the device, do not pull the cable and do not lift the device with the mains cable because the cable

can break or the insulation can be damaged. A damaged cable must be replaced by an authorised service

engineer. The device must not be used or connected to a wall socket if the cable is damaged.

• The coee maker should only be used by adults or with appropriate adult supervision. Make sure the mains

cable doesn’t touch any part of the appliance that becomes hot during use.

• Never wind the mains cable around the appliance, especially when it is still hot, because the cable could

break or the insulation might be damaged.

• Do not allow anything to fall into the appliance and do not push anything into the opening of the appliance

as the appliance could be damaged and could cause electrical shock.

• The coee maker must only be used with the accessories supplied in the box. You must not use any additional

parts that are not recommended by the manufacturer; doing this may cause an accident or other problems

with the appliance. The manufacturer is not responsible if the appliance becomes damaged or defective as a

result of using inappropriate accessories.

• Never switch on the appliance – even for a moment – if the water tank is empty. If you are unsure about the

water level, please check inside the water tank when the appliance is unplugged. The water tank must not be

opened after the appliance has been connected to the mains and coee-making has started!

• Never open the cover of the water tank or remove the lter when the appliance is switched on. Always make

sure there is no steam pressure in the tank before opening the cover or removing the lter. To check whether

there is steam pressure in the water tank, place an appropriate container under the steam nozzle and turn the

function control to the position marked with a steam cloud. Avoid accidents caused by boiling water by

always ensuring there is an appropriate container under the steam pipe to catch the steam/water ow.

• Take care when using the glass coee pot, particularly when lling or cleaning it. Do not put a pot lled

with hot coee on a wet or cold surface. Do not use the pot if it is cracked, broken or the handle is loose.

A damaged pot should always be replaced; a pot with a loose handle may be repaired by a specialist engineer.
