MANUAL WIND HOSE REEL
INSTRUCTION MANUAL
1. INTRODUCTION
This high quality manual wind hose reel is manufactured from steel with a powder coating. It is a durable and practical hose storage solution.
This reel has been especially manufactured with a high level coating. However, given the varying conditions it will be used under, the
warranty does not cover the unit for rust or deterioration of the coating. The 12 month warranty covers the working of the unit and
construction of the frame.
This hose reel will take a maximum length of 30m of garden hose. To complete the set up of this product, we recommend you purchase (or
use) the following additional products, sold separately:
• Outback, Ned Kelly or Tradie’s Choice Starter Kit
• 18m or 30m Profirm or Premiumflex hose
• Tap to Hose Connector (Product Code: 2310)
This reel can be mounted vertically to a post or wall, or horizontally “on ground” to a floor, path or driveway, etc. See Fig. 1.
The operation of the reel, if mounted to a post, or wall, can be enhanced by installing a Hose Guide (supplied).
2. SETTING UP AN D MOUNTING THE HOSE REEL
For optimum use, we recommend mounting the reel to a wall or post, or securing it to the ground.
To use this reel, it requires a short length of hose to go from the tap to the hose reel, called the “Leader hose”. This can be any length of hose
you may already have, or it can be cut from your hose. When cutting any hose, ensure it is cut straight (not angled or jagged). Sharp
secateurs are the best tool for this task.
There are 4 hose connection points (see Fig. 2)
A. At the tap
B. To the outside of the reel (from the tap)
C. To the inside of the reel
D. At the spray end
1. Connect the Starter Kit as per supplied Fitting Instructions, to Connection Point A (at the tap from the leader hose) and Connection
Point D (spray end of the hose).
2. Using the additional Tap to Hose Connector screw the Tap Connector direct onto Connection Point B. Install the hose connector to
the other end of the leader hose as per Fitting Instructions. See Fig. 3.
3. Feed the long hose length through the inside of the drum to Connection Point C. You will need to soften the end of the hose in hot
water, slide the supplied jubilee clip over the end of the hose, then push the hose onto the barbed stem. Tighten the jubilee clip
with a screwdriver, taking care to ensure the screwdriver does not slip off and cause injury. See Fig. 4.
4. When securing the hose reel to a wall or a post, ensure the leader hose is long enough to reach from the tap to the reel. The Top
mounting hole should be about 1200mm above the ground (or a convenient height for you to wind the handle). If the hose reel
needs to be mounted further from the tap, an extra length of hose can be added using a Hoselink Hose Joiner Set (Product Code:
2410).
5. The hose reel has 2 holes by which to secure it, and the necessary screws are enclosed together with plastic plugs for installing to a
masonry wall. We recommend using the hose reel as a template to mark the holes prior to drilling. Use a spirit level to ensure the
