IMPORTANT NOTES
• The FX20C battery is in use whenever the INPUT jack is
plugged in. If you are not using the FX20C, be sure to
unplug the cable from the INPUT jack. This will prevent
unnecessary battery drain.
• Remove the battery whenever the unit is not going to be
used for an extended period of time. This will prevent
possible damage due to leaking battery fluids.
• If the FX20C fails to switch in or out or the LED indicator
stays lit, the battery needs to be replaced.
• Use of any AC adapter other than the DOD PS200R will
void the warranty of this product.
• Unauthorized repair of the FX20C will void the warranty.
Should your FX20C require service, contact your DOD FX
pedal dealer for return / repair information.

WHAT THE FX20C DOES
The FX20C is an update on the classic phaser design.
The DOD FX20C is a stereo phaser with two completely
seperate outputs. This allows you to send the outputs to
two seperate amplifiers, giving you a tremendous stereo
spread. SPEED, DEPTH, and REGENERATION, knobs
give you serious control over the sound of the FX20C.
CONNECTING THE FX20C
Connect your guitar to the input of the FX20C. Connect
the output of the FX20C to your amp or to the input of
another effects device. To eliminate the need for a 9-volt
battery, attach the DOD PS200R to the AC adapter jack.
FEATURES
LED indicator shows the status of effect and battery
condition.
Active switching for noiseless operation.
Easy access battery compartment.
Adapter jack for AC operation.
Rugged die-cast metal case.
Three year limited warranty.
Rubber non-skid bottom.
CONTROLS
SPEED: Controls how fast the phaser is sweeping.
Clockwise gives a fast "wobbly" sweep. Counter-
clockwise gives a slow "jetlike" sweep.
DEPTH: Controls how far and wide the phaser changes.
Counter-clockwise will give a shallow phase. Clockwise
will give you a thick nearly out-of-control phase.
REGENeration: Controls the amount of signal fed from
the output back into the input. This intensifies the
character of the phase.
FOOTSWITCH: Switches the effect in or out of the signal
path.
LED INDICATOR: Lights when the effect is enabled, and is
not lit when the effect is bypassed.
JACKS: Input, Output, AC Adapter (use the DOD PS200R
power supply only to eliminate the need for a 9 volt
battery).
OPERATION OF THE FX20C
The FX20C should be operated in front of an amplifier but,
it can be used in an effects loop as well. Since the order of
the effects are very important, they should be ordered as
follows: 1 compression effects (DOD FX84), 2 Wah/volume
and envolope filters (DOD FX17, FX25), 3 Distortion effects
(DOD FX102, FX69B), 4 EQ’s (DOD FX 40B), 5 chorus,
flanging, phasing, vibrato (DOD FX 64, FX75C, FX20C,
FX22), 6 Delay and reverb effects (DOD DFX98, FX96).
To set up your own sound with the FX20C start by turning
the SPEED control to 12 O'clock, Set the DEPTH anywhere
between 11 O'clock and 1 O'clock. Set the
REGENERATION to 1 O'clock, and play.
When using the FX20C you are able to dial up a wide
variety of useful tones. From subtle chorus-like sounds to
radical sweeping effects.
On the following pages, examples of different types of
sounds are shown, along with graphic representations of
how to set the knobs. Since good (or bad) guitar sounds are
a subjective matter, use these examples as starting points to
create your own sounds that meet your specific tastes, or
lack thereof.
GEE-OWW
Use this sound on with punchy chords. Sounds great clean
or distorted.
MR. ROTATO HEAD
Use this sound to create a faux leslie type sound. Sounds
awesome on arpeggios.
90 DEGREES
This sound is a key ingredient to the "brown" sound. Crank
up your distortion and fingertap liberally.
