to OFF ( ) and then remove plug from

hazard, do not cook in base. Cook only

in removable crock.

This appliance is intended for household use only.

w WARNING

Electrical Shock Hazard: This

appliance is provided with a polarized plug

(one wide blade) to reduce the risk of electric

shock. The plug fits only one way into a

polarized outlet. Do not defeat the safety

purpose of the plug by modifying the plug in

any way or by using an adapter. If the plug

does not fit fully into the outlet, reverse the

plug. If it still does not fit, have an electrician

replace the outlet.

A short power-supply cord is used to reduce

the risk resulting from it being grabbed by

Lid and Crock: Precautions and Information

• Please handle crock and lid carefully to ensure long life.

• Avoid sudden, extreme temperature changes. For example, do not place a hot lid or

crock into cold water, or onto a wet surface.

• Avoid hitting crock or lid against faucet or other hard surfaces.

• Do not use crock or lid if chipped, cracked, or severely scratched.

• Do not use abrasive cleansers or metal scouring pads.

• The bottom of crock is very rough and can damage countertop. Use caution.

• The crock and lid can become very hot. Use caution. Do not place directly on any

unprotected surface or countertop.

• The crock is microwave-safe and oven-proof, but never heat crock when empty. Never

place crock on a burner or stove top.

• Do not place lid in a microwave oven, conventional oven, or on stove top.

Removing Lid and Crock

When removing lid, tilt so that opening faces away from you to avoid being burned by steam.

The sides of the slow cooker’s base get very warm because the heating elements are located

here. Use handles on base if necessary. Use oven mitts to remove crock.

How to use Slow Cooker

w WARNING

Food Safety Hazard. Food must be hot enough to prevent bacterial growth

before using WARM mode. The WARM mode should only be used after a recipe has been

thoroughly cooked. Do not reheat food on WARM mode. If food has been cooked and then

refrigerated, reheat it on LOW or HIGH and then switch to WARM. Visit foodsafety.gov for

more information.

w CAUTION

Burn Hazard. Escaping steam is hot. Use oven mitts to lift lid.

Before first use: Wash Lid and Crock in hot, soapy water. Rinse and dry.

Crock capacity:

For best results, fill Crock no more than 1 inch (2.5 cm) from the rim. If only

half-filled, check for doneness 1 to 2 hours earlier than recipe states.

NOTE: When set, Display will show set cook time and cooking LED light blinks before cooking

starts. After cooking starts, Display will show remaining cook time and cooking LED light will

remain lit.

1. Plug into outlet. Display will show

00:00.

2. Add ingredients to Crock.

3. Add Lid. The Lid should sit level on the

Crock for even cooking and to prevent

heat loss.

4. Turn unit on by pressing Power button

and red power light will illuminate.

The unit will automatically default to a

cooking time of 8:00 hours on LOW, or

press Mode button to toggle through

program selections of HIGH, LOW, or

WARM.

NOTE: Do not use WARM mode to cook

or reheat food.

5. Press the + or – buttons to select

cooking time. The timer can be set in

30-minute increments. Slow Cooker will

automatically start within 5 seconds.

6. At end of cook time, the Slow Cooker

will automatically switch to WARM

mode.

Cook up to 20 hours with 4 hours

Warm time for a total of 24 hours. To

turn unit off before reaching maximum

cooking time, press Power button.

7. Unplug from outlet.

Care and Cleaning

w WARNING

Electrical Shock Hazard. Disconnect power before cleaning. Do not immerse

cord, plug, or base in any liquid.

1. Unplug and let cool.

2. Use oven mitts to remove Crock.

3. Crock and Lid are dishwasher-safe or

wash in hot, soapy water. Rinse and dry.

DO NOT use the “SANI” setting when

washing in the dishwasher. “SANI”

cycle temperatures could damage your

product.

4. Wipe Base with a soft, damp cloth or

sponge and dry.

Tips for Slow Cooking

• The Crock should be at least half-filled for

best results. If only half-filled, check for

doneness 1 to 2 hours earlier than recipe

time.

• Stirring is not necessary when slow

cooking. Removing Lid results in major

heat loss and the cooking time may need

to be extended. However, if cooking on

HIGH, you may want to stir occasionally.

• If cooking soups or stews, leave a 2-inch

(5 cm) space between the top of the

Crock and the food so that the recipe can

come to a simmer.

• Many recipes call for cooking all day. If

your morning schedule doesn’t allow

time to prepare a recipe, do it the night

before. Place all ingredients in Crock,

cover with Lid, and refrigerate overnight.

In the morning, simply place Crock in

Slow Cooker and start cooking.

• Some foods are not suited for extended

cooking in a slow cooker. Pasta, seafood,

milk, cream, or sour cream should be

added 2 hours before serving. Evaporated

milk or condensed soups are perfect for

slow cooking.

• The higher the fat content of meat, the

less liquid is needed. If cooking meat with

a high fat content, place thick onion slices

underneath so meat will not sit on (and

cook in) fat.

• Slow Cookers allow for very little

evaporation. If making your favorite soup,

stew, or sauce, reduce liquid called for in

original recipe. If too thick, liquid can be

added later.

• If cooking a vegetable-type casserole,

there will need to be liquid in the recipe

to prevent scorching on the sides of

Crock.

• If cooking a recipe with root vegetables,

place root vegetables in the bottom of the

Crock.

Food Safety Tips

• Do not use frozen, uncooked meat in the

Slow Cooker. Thaw any meat or poultry

before slow cooking.

• Visit foodsafety.gov for more information

on safe internal cooking temperatures.

• To store leftovers after cooking, do NOT

place the entire Crock in the refrigerator

since contents will take too long to cool.

Instead, divide leftovers into smaller

containers and place into refrigerator.

• Never allow undercooked or raw meat

to sit at room temperature in the Slow

Cooker. Once meat is placed into the

Crock, it should be cooked immediately

(unless prepping Slow Cooker the night

before, where Crock should be placed

into the refrigerator).

Troubleshooting

Food is undercooked.

• Was food cooked on the WARM mode? Do not cook on WARM; always cook on LOW or

HIGH heat mode.

• Was power interrupted?

• Did you select the LOW heat mode, but used a cooking time based on the HIGH heat

mode?

• Did you have the glass Lid placed correctly on the Slow Cooker?

My meal was overcooked. Why?

• Did you select hours based on a LOW heat recipe?

• Foods will continue to increase in temperature after desired temperature has been

reached.

The food isn’t done after cooking the amount of time recommended in my recipe.

• This can be due to voltage variations (which are commonplace everywhere) or altitude.

The slight fluctuations in power do not have a noticeable effect on most appliances.

However, it can alter the cooking times in the Slow Cooker. Lower than rated voltage will

require longer cooking times and higher than rated voltage will require shorter cooking

times. You will learn through experience if a shorter or longer time is needed.

Lid gasket collapsed.

• This can be caused by sudden temperature change, like running cold water over a warm

Lid. Allow Lid to sit at room temperature. It will return to its original shape within 24 hours.

Limited Warranty

This warranty applies to products purchased and used in the U.S. and Canada. This is the only

express warranty for this product and is in lieu of any other warranty or condition.

This product is warranted to be free from defects in material and workmanship for a period

of five (5) years from the date of original purchase in Canada and one (1) year from the

date of original purchase in the U.S. During this period, your exclusive remedy is repair or

replacement of this product or any component found to be defective, at our option; however,

you are responsible for all costs associated with returning the product to us and our returning

a product or component under this warranty to you. If the product or component is no longer

available, we will replace with a similar one of equal or greater value.

Attache en fil d’acier inoxydable (pour

verrouiller le couvercle). L’illustration montre

les poignées avec fils d’attaches verrouillés

pour fins de transport seulement. Ne pas

faire la cuisson ou entreposer l’appareil avec

le couvercle verrouillé.



ATTENTION : SURFACE CHAUDE. La température des surfaces d’accès peut être

élevée pendant que l’appareil fonctionne.

Utilisation de la mijoteuse

w AVERTISSEMENT

Danger pour la salubrité des aliments. Les aliments doivent être

suffisamment chauds pour prévenir toute croissance bactérienne avant d’utiliser le réglage

WARM (réchaud). Le réglage WARM (réchaud) ne doit être utilisé qu’après la cuisson

complète des aliments. Ne réchauffez pas les aliments placés sous le réglage Warm

(réchaud). Si les aliments ont cuit et ont été réfrigérés, réchauffez-les à température élevée

ou basse ; passez ensuite au réglage WARM (réchaud). Visitez le site Internet foodsafety.gov

pour de plus amples informations.

w ATTENTION

Danger de brûlure. La vapeur qui s’échappe est chaude. Utilisez des

gants de cuisine pour soulever le couvercle.

Avant la première utilisation : Laver le couvercle et le pot dans l’eau chaude savonneuse.

Rincer et assécher.

Capacité du pot :

Pour des résultats optimaux, remplir le pot jusqu’à la moitié de sa capacité

ou jusqu’à 2,5 cm (1 po) du rebord. Si le pot est rempli à mi-hauteur, vérifier l’état de cuisson

1 à 2 heures avant l’achèvement du temps de cuisson indiqué dans la recette.

REMARQUE : Lorsque le réglage est fait, l’écran d’affichage indique le temps de cuisson et le

témoin DEL de cuisson clignote avant le début de la cuisson. Une fois la cuisson commencée,

l’écran d’affichage indique le temps de cuisson restant et le témoin DEL de cuisson est fixe.

1. Brancher dans la prise. L’affichage

indiquera 0:00.

2. Ajouter les ingrédients dans le pot.

3. Ajouter le couvercle. Le couvercle

doit reposer correctement sur le pot

afin d’assurer une cuisson uniforme et

prévenir la perte de chaleur.

4. Mettre l’appareil en marche en appuyant

sur le bouton d’alimentation et le témoin

d’alimentation rouge s’illuminera.

L’appareil sera automatiquement réglé

par défaut à une durée de cuisson de

8:00 heures au niveau de température

LOW (bas), ou appuyer sur le bouton

Mode pour défiler parmi les choix de

modes de programmation HIGH (élevée),

LOW (bas) ou WARM (réchaud).

REMARQUE : Ne pas utiliser le

mode WARM (réchaud) pour cuire ou

réchauffer les aliments. Appuyer sur

les boutons + ou - pour sélectionner la

durée de cuisson. La minuterie peut être

réglée par incréments de 30 minutes.

La mijoteuse se mettra en marche

automatiquement dans les 5 secondes.

5. À la fin de la durée de cuisson, la

mijoteuse passera automatiquement

en mode WARM (réchaud). La duré de

cuisson peut aller jusqu’à 20 heures avec

une durée de 4 heures en mode WARM

(réchaud) pour un total de 24 heures.

Pour éteindre l’appareil avant d’avoir

atteint la durée de cuisson maximale,

appuyer sur le bouton d’alimentation.

6. Débrancher de la prise électrique.

Nettoyage et entretien

w AVERTISSEMENT

Risque de choc électrique. Débranchez l’appareil avant le

nettoyage. N’immergez pas le cordon, la fiche ou la base dans l’eau ou tout autre liquide.

1. Débrancher et laisser refroidir.

2. Utiliser des gants de cuisson pour retirer

le pot.

3. Le pot et le couvercle vont au lave-vaisselle,

ou peuvent être lavés dans de l’eau chaude

savonneuse. Rincer et sécher. NE PAS

utiliser le cycle « SANI » lors du nettoyage

au lave-vaisselle. Les températures du cycle

« SANI » pourraient endommager votre

produit.

4. Essuyer la base à l’aide d’un chiffon ou

d’une éponge douce et humide et essuyer

pour sécher.
