1. General

1.1 Introduction

This manual has been compiled to help you to

operate your craft with safety and pleasure. It

contains details of the craft, the equipment

supplied or fitted, its systems, and information

on its operation and maintenance. Please read

it carefully, and familiarise yourself with the

craft before using it.

If this is your first craft, or you are changing to

a type of craft you are not familiar with, for

your own comfort and safety, please ensure

that you obtain handling and operation

experience before assuming command of the

craft. Your dealer or national sailing federation

or yacht club will be pleased to advise you of

the local sea schools or competent instructors

This manual uses the following safety

alerts to draw your attention to special

safety instructions that should be followed

WARNING - indicates a potentially hazardous

situation that, if not avoided, could result in

death or serious injury.

danger

DANGER - indicates an imminently

hazardous situation that, if not avoided, will

result in death or serious injury.

caution

CAUTION - indicates a potentially hazardous

situation that, if not avoided, may result in

minor or moderate injury or property damage.

It may also be used to alert against unsafe

practices.

THE NEW OWNER WHEN YOU SELL THE

CRAFT.

1.2 Design Category

Category A – “Ocean”. Craft designed for

voyages where conditions experienced may

exceed wind force 8 Beaufort and include

significant wave heights of 4 m, for vessels

that are largely self-sufficient.

Category B – “Offshore”. Craft designed for

offshore voyages where conditions up to and

including wind force 8 Beaufort and significant

wave heights up to and including 4 m may be

experienced.

Category C – “Inshore”. Craft designed for

voyages in coastal waters, large bays,

estuaries, lakes and rivers, where conditions up

to and including wind force 6 and significant

wave heights up to and including 2 m may be

experienced

Category D – “Sheltered waters”. Craft

designed for voyages on small lakes, rivers and

canals, where conditions up to and including

wind force 4 and significant wave heights up to

and including 0,5 m may be experienced.

* The boat you obtained is meant to be used

in Design Category B, C or D , depending on

the model you are using, see table 2.1.

open sea, take the necessary precautions!
