1 Important

Read this user manual carefully before you use the appliance and keep it

Children shall not play with the

appliance. Cleaning and user

maintenance shall not be made by

children without supervision.

• For additional protection, we advise

you to install a residual current device

(RCD) in the electrical circuit that

supplies the bathroom. This RCD

must have a rated residual operating

current not higher than 30mA. Ask

your installer for advice.

• Do not insert metal objects into the

air grilles to avoid electric shock.

• Never block the air grilles.

• Before you connect the appliance,

ensure that the voltage indicated on

the appliance corresponds to the local

power voltage.

• Do not use the appliance for any

other purpose than described

in this manual.

• Do not use the appliance on

articial hair.

• When the appliance is connected to

the power, never leave it unattended.

• Never use any accessories or

parts from other manufacturers

or that Philips does not specically

recommend. If you use such

accessories or parts, your guarantee

becomes invalid.

• Do not wind the mains cord round

the appliance.

• Wait until the appliance has cooled

down before you store it.

• Do not pull on the power cord after

using. Always unplug the appliance by

holding the plug.

Electromagnetic elds (EMF)

regulations regarding exposure to electromagnetic elds.

Environment

Do not throw away the appliance with the normal household

waste at the end of its life, but hand it in at an ofcial collection

point for recycling. By doing this, you help to preserve the

2 Introduction

Philips SmartCare dryer features innovative and unique ThermoShield

Technology which actively adjust drying temperature to prevent hair

and scalp from overheating for healthy and shiny hair.

ThermoShield is an innovative technology that Philips brings to upgrade

drying performance with superior protection to your hair. It operates

a specially designed drying program which actively and constantly

adjust temperature for fast and healthy drying. The LED indicator will

light up when ThermoShield setting is selected. You will feel the drying

temperature regularly changed with no more hot spots.

3 Dry your hair

1 Select suitable attachment and attach it to the hairdryer properly

before using ( E , G , I in Fig.3 ).

2 Connect the plug to a power supply socket.

3 Adjust the airow switch ( c ) and temperature switch ( d ) to

suitable positions.

» The LED indicator ( a ) will light up when ThermoShield setting

is selected.

» ( BHC201, BHC202, BHC203 only ) When the appliance is

powered on, ions are automatically and continuously dispensed,

reducing frizz and providing additional shine. A special odor may

be smelt. It is normal and caused by the ions which are generated.

Nozzle

For precise drying, attach the nozzle ( e ) onto the hairdryer. The

nozzle enables you to direct the airow straight at the brush or comb

with which you are styling your hair. ( F in Fig.3 )

Radiance Diffuser ( BHC203 only )

For attentive drying, attach the radiance diffuser ( f ) onto the

hairdryer. It helps to distribute the airow evenly on your hair to avoid

overheating.( H in Fig.3 )

Curl Diffuser ( BHC202 only )

For gently drying wavy or curly hair, select curl diffuser ( g ) and attach

it to the hairdryer. It spreads the airow across the hair, boosting volume

and enhancing curls while drying. The diffuser’s ne textured pins will

add volume, maximize thickness, bounce and help shape curls.

• To enhance your natural volume and maintain your curls, hold the

dryer vertically and place the hair in a circular motion in between

pins. Then move the hairdryer upwards. ( J in Fig.3)

• To add volume at the roots, insert the pins into your hair by making

rotating movements. ( K in Fig.3)

4 Press the cool shot button ( b ) for cool temperature to x your

style.

After use:

1 Switch off the appliance and unplug it.

2 Place it on a heat-resistant surface until it cools down.

3 To disconnect the attachment, pull it off the hairdryer.

4 Clean the appliance by damp cloth.

5 Keep it in a safe and dry place, free of dust. You can also fold the

appliance ( i ) or hang it with the hanging loop ( h ).

3 헤어 드라이

1 적합한 액세서리를 선택하고 사용하기 전 헤어 드라이어에

올바르게 부착합니다 (그림 3의 E, G, I ).

2 전원 공급 장치 콘센트에 플러그를 꽂습니다.

3 바람 스위치 ( c ) 및 온도 스위치 ( d ) 를 적절한 위치로

조절합니다.

방지하기 위해 이온이 자동으로 연속 분사됩니다.

독특한 향이 날 수 있습니다. 이것은 이온 발생으로 인한

정상적인 현상입니다.

노즐

정확한 드라이를 위해 헤어 드라이어에 노즐 ( e ) 을

부착합니다. 노즐은 브러시나 빗을 사용하여 스타일링을 원하는

부위를 향하도록 할 수 있습니다. (그림 3의 F )

레디언스 디퓨저 (BHC203만 해당)

섬세한 드라이를 위해 레디언스 디퓨저를 ( f )

헤어드라이어에 부착합니다. 공기를 고르게 분출하여 모발이

과열되는 것을 방지합니다 (그림 3의 H ).
