aftercare instructions

The surfaces of this toilet seat have been treated with a very hardwearing

varnish. The seat should however be treated with care.

1. Clean the wooden surfaces and the hinges weekly with a soft damp

cloth and mild soap solution.

2. Do not scrub or scour the wooden surfaces or use abrasive cleaning

materials.

3. Do not use bleach or cleaners containing bleach.

4. Replacement hinges, fixings, washers and seat buffers can be

obtained directly from Roper Rhodes Ltd at the address below. If

possible please quote the seat product code in all correspondence.

5. WARNING - do not stand on the lid or ring of your toilet seat (for

example when decorating the bathroom).

toilet seat fixing instructions

Please read carefully before attempting to fit the

seat. If you are not the end user, please make sure

the aftercare instructions are made available for the

end user to read.

1. Before fitting the seat to the pan it is essential

that the hinges are adjusted correctly and the

locking screws (L) are firmly tightened. The

locking screws are only partially tightened at

the factory, so even if the hinge plate seems

tight when you remove the seat from the box,

it will still be necessary to tighten the locking

screws. Failure to tighten these screws will

result in the hinges working loose over a period

of time.

2. Adjusting the seat hinges to fit the pan.

The seat hinges can be adjusted in 3 ways;

a) By loosening locking screw (L), the hinge

plates can be rotated so that the distance

between the fixing bolts can be adjusted.

b) By locating the fixing bolt into one of the 2

different holes in the hinge plate (Diagram A), it

is possible to adjust the forward / backward

position of the seat.

c) It is possible to get a larger adjustment of

the forward / backward position by rotating the

hinge plates through 180°. If the seat lid or ring

will not stay in the raised position then move it

further forward on the pan.

3. Having adjusted the hinges make sure the

locking screws (L) are tight.

4. Place the main seat washers onto the hinge

plates, and feed the fixing bolts through the

holes in the toilet pan.

5. Fit white dome rubber washer and plastic fixing

nut as shown in Diagram B. Secure the fixing

nuts very firmly using a spanner or pliers. Failure

to tighten the fixing nuts securely will result in

the seat moving around on the pan. Final

adjustment of seat position is possible just

before the fixing nuts become tight.
