Instructions

Please read carefully before use and retain for future reference.

SAFETY INFORMATION!

• Always wear gloves

• Always work on a clean, flat working surface.

• Check components on file guide regularly for wear and general condition.

• Make certain that file guide has been mounted securely to chainsaw guide bar

before sharpening.

WARNING: Follow all instructions for cutter filing angles and depth gauge

settings. Incorrect sharpening angles, excessive depth gauge settings or

incorrectly shaped depth gauges may increase the risk of chainsaw kickback.

Kickback can resultin severe injury to the saw operator or to bystanders.

ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS:

File Guide comes fully assembled, excluding file.

A round chainsaw file 5/32” (4mm) is included.

A. Select the proper file size for the chain to be

sharpened (see chain chart to the right).

B. Push file handle (11) onto the file. lnsert the

file into the file holder (3) and tighten down

both locking thumb screws (4).

C. Mount file guide assembly on the guide bar

so that the chain guide T-bars (5) are flush

with the top of the chain rivets. Tighten

assembly with locking thumb screw (8).

D. Positon cutter against chain stop (7).

E. Secure the T-bars (5), by using thumb screw

(6) and opposing slotted screw, to centre the

chain and stabilise cutter for sharpening.

A. Set the tilt and swivel base (14) to either the

0º (for 90º) or 10º angle marks (see chain

chart above).

Lock into place using swivel knob (9).

B. Set top swivel (2) to correct angle mark

(see chain chart above).

Lock into position with swivel knob (10).
